I really picked a heck of a week to reduce my caffeine consumption. Since I’ve been at the Saratoga Sun, it has not been uncommon for me to drink anywhere from three to five cups of coffee in a day. Often, if the pot is a day old and there’s still some coffee left, I’ll just reheat it and drink that. That’s not counting the two or three sodas I was drinking, either. It’s not easy serving the public. This was made clear on April 6, when Bob Keel resigned his position from the Saratoga Town Council. Keel, in his resignation letter, stated that he was choosing his family over the council. The Saratoga Sun applauds him for making such a difficult decision and wishes him well in his new venture. There may be many in the community who are disappointed that Keel did not finish out his four year term. The Wyoming Game and Fish Department is proposing to reduce antelope license quotas for the 2021 hunting season. In many hunt areas, the proposals cut the quota due to impacts from persistent drought conditions and the record-breaking 2021 spring blizzard. Saratoga didn't have to go very far this weekend as they hosted their annual track meet on Saturday. While at the Burt Willford Memorial Invite, a number of Head Coach Rex Hohnholt's student athletes placed well even while working against cooler temperatures. The student athletes of Encampment track and field didn't travel far this weekend to compete as they attended the Burt Willford Memorial Invite in Saratoga on Saturday. While Encampment had been scheduled to compete in Laramie on Friday, the winter-like weather that has plagued Wyoming recently led to Head Coach Kegan Willford forgoing the event.
