Victor Gabriel Anderson was born to Andrew Robert and Gertrude (Boberg) Anderson on December 1, 1930. When he was six months old, his parents filed on a homestead at Coyote Canyon near Walcott. John L. Hoke, 71, attorney and long-time resident of both Rawlins and Saratoga, died March 17 from a fall while in Denver with friends. John was born to John D. Hoke and Grace Ion (Fowler) Hoke on June 25, 1946, in Cheyenne, Wyoming. He attended grade school and junior high in Cheyenne, graduating from Natrona County High School in Casper in 1964. He has been pastoring at the church for about a month, but he didn't come to the town without knowing something about Saratoga. Before Saratoga, Gunter ministered in Carr, Colo. North Fork Engineering has announced the creation of the North Fork Engineering Scholarship. The scholarship is open to graduating seniors from Carbon County School District No. 2 (CCSD2) high schools who are pursuing an education in engineering, construction or a technical field. Starting June 3, local artists and crafters will be able to show their wares at the Saratoga Museum at the Sunday Craft Mart. The mart, which will take place from noon to 4 p.m., is open to any artist or crafter but the event is geared more towards Wyoming and locals. The town of Hanna has approved the Hanna Marshal’s office to proceed in applying for a grant to Homeland Security of $14,250 to purchase a gas operated generator. The Marshal’s office said, if funded, this project will allow power from a generator to ensure the operation of communication equipment and other necessary electrical instruments during a power loss.
