    It was a tough end to the regular volleyball season for the Encampment Lady Tigers as they were dealt two losses on Thursday and Saturday while on the road. On October 19, the Lady Tigers were hosted by the Rock River Lady Longhorns where they went 1-3.     The regular six-man football season came to an end this past weekend for the Encampment Tigers, who ended their final game in spectacular fashion.     On May 10, 1869 the two ends of the transcontinental railroad were connected during the Golden Spike Ceremony held at Promontory Summit in the Utah Territory. More than 150 years later, on October 22, people in Saratoga were greeted by the sight of a large golden spike in town.     The volunteers at Bridge Street Bargains were greeted Tuesday morning with the sight of donations dropped off overnight at their storefront on Bridge Avenue.     Property owners in Carbon County received their tax statements for 2023 last month. According to County Assessor Renee Snider, on average there was an increase of 18-20% in property taxes for the county.
