Expanding commerce in Saratoga

Bank of Commerce announces full-service branch in Platte Valley to be led by long-time local and banking veteran

Saratoga and Platte Valley residents will now have even more banking options. On Monday, Bank of Commerce announced the official opening of a new full service branch in Saratoga.

The branch opening comes about a year after the Bank of Commerce first opened the location at 217 N. 1st Street as a loan production office.

“We are pleased to expand our footprint in Carbon County,” said Copper France, Bank of Commerce President. “We have been providing banking services to the Platte Valley for many years, and now we are excited to offer a more convenient way for our customers to do their local banking.”

As a celebration of the new branch, Bank of Commerce will host an open house after the New Year, welcoming the public to meet the team and explore what the bank has to offer.

According to a press release, Bank of Commerce had identified Saratoga as an ideal branch location due to the existing relationships which had been built with local developers, builders and realtors along with the bank’s ties to the businesses in the Platte Valley communities.

“We are motivated by the thriving vitality of the Platte Valley area,” said Buddy Barto, senior vice president of the Bank of Commerce. “This opportunity, represented by growth, is the main reason we chose to expand.”

“Opening our doors in the Valley took a little longer than we originally planned, but we wanted to make sure our branch was fully-staffed and trained to make the experience exceptional for customers,” added France. “Our team of banking professionals stand ready to serve the people, businesses and business leaders in this community and across our county, just as we’ve done for many years, only now with the convenience of another great location.”

While the branch for Bank of Commerce is new for Saratoga, it will be managed by someone familiar to Platte Valley residents: Karen Youngberg.

“We know our customers by name, develop relationships with them and care about their well-being,” said Lacey Herring, Vice President of Operations. “I believe that level personal services sets us apart from the rest and will continue in the Platte Valley with Karen Youngberg leading the team.”

Youngberg brings with her over 40 years of banking experience in the Platte Valley and is a life-long local community member. According to the press release, Youngberg played a key role in the transition from loan production office to a full-service branch.

“I’m proud to be a part of the Bank of Commerce team as we expand our presence in Carbon County, right here in the place that I call home,” said Youngberg. “I am simply thrilled with the team we have assembled to serve our current and future customers.”

For the past several months, Youngberg and her team have been training to ensure that when the doors open in Saratoga, they are ready to serve the community.

“This is an exciting time for the Bank of Commerce,” said France. “We are dedicated to cultivating growth across Carbon County with the commitment to support and invest in the communities we serve.”

The Bank of Commerce Saratoga Branch will be located at 217 N 1st Street. Lobby hours will be 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. A night deposit and 24/7 ATM will also be available.
