Saratoga Girls Track Team Already Pre-Qualified for State

The athletes who prequalified for state at the Okie Blanchard Meet at Cheyenne East Friday April 7 meet were Josie Little in the 400 Meter Dash with a time of 1:04.41, Whitney Bennett 100 Meter Hurdles 17.20 and 300 Meter Hurdles 48.11. Rhiwan Williams in the Triple Jump 32-08.00; 4x400 Meter Relay Team Whitney Bennett, Josie Little, Madison Teichman, and Rhiwan Williams 4:23.50  

For a lot of our kids it was their first meet of the season. It was good to put a couple of relays together. I thought the kids performed pretty well”, said Saratoga Middle High School (SMHS) Head Coach Rex Hohnholt. We know what we got to work on going forward. I feel bad for our kids in technical events (the throws and the jumps) with limited ability to practice due to the snow. At the same time we are in the same boat that everyone else is in. We have had several girls who are qualified for state now which is great. It was good to have most of our boys there and most of them are in technical events. We haven’t been able to do everything we need to, to get them totally prepared in practice due to the snow on the ground. The more time we get them on the track the better off we will be.

Friday April 14 is the Burt Willford Memorial, however if it is canceled The Panthers will go to the Wheatland or Shoshoni Meet depending on weather or go to the Rock Springs meet on Saturday.  Everything is undetermined due to potential storms coming on Friday and/or Saturday.
