RNB changes charter

Rawlins National Bank, known for years as RNB, changes name to RNB State Bank, charter to state

The Rawlins National Bank (RNB) announced today it will undergo a name change to RNB State Bank as part of a conversion from a national charter to a Wyoming state chartered bank. “Our Board feels that being under state supervision, as opposed to a federal regulator, is a better match for a community bank like RNB,” said Bruce Hellbaum, President and CEO.

RNB State Bank is a full service bank that operates regionally with five branches: four branches in Wyoming along with one branch and a Loan Production Office (LPO) in Colorado.

Dan Runner, Saratoga Market President, remembers, “A long time ago our communities nicknamed us RNB and we embraced it. We are the same great bank, with the same great people providing the same great service.”

About RNB State Bank

RNB was established in Rawlins in 1899. The bank was originally chartered as a state bank and converted to a national charter in 1900. In 1991, the Bank expanded its footprint with the acquisition of branch locations in Saratoga and Hanna.

In 2008, RNB grew into the diversified markets of the Colorado Front Range by opening a full service branch in Longmont, Colo. and a LPO in Lakewood, Colo.

For the last 120 years, RNB has sought out new opportunities and new markets to provide customers access to the financial tools they need. The bank believes its small size and knowledgeable staff allows the institution to be flexible and creative in finding contemporary ways to provide traditional banking services. RNB bills themselves as the perfect combination of modern banking and old fashioned values.

Rawlins Market President Scott Thayer, says, “The state charter is RNB’s origin, founded in 1899 as Rawlins State Bank. Our commitment to our communities is well known, local and independent. All of us at RNB are looking forward to this exciting change and another 120 years serving our community. We are Carbon County’s Bank since 1899.”
