Festival of Trees fills the coffers and dazzles attendees

Fundraiser will help fill the void left by cancellation of ice derby

According to Amanda Knotwell, the CEO of Saratoga/Platte Valley Chamber of Commerce, the 2022 Festival of the Trees Auction and Gala was a huge success.

Knotwell said the event was sold out at 230 guests.Food was served by Sweet Marie's Bakeshop, with a wide variety of holiday inspired items.

There were 41 Items donated for the auction ranging from wreaths and trees to gift baskets and fresh cut centerpieces. The highest item went for $900 and was donated by Aspen Sky Merchant Mall, a wood cut out of a tree adorned with Wyoming and Saratoga inspired ornaments called "A Wyoming Buffalo Check Christmas".

Including sponsored tables, tickets, donations and auction the totall raised was $33,040 before expenses.

"This is a phenomenal number and the Chamber is so grateful to all the people who attended, the wonderful people and businesses that donated items to be auctioned off and monetary donations provided at the event," said Knotwell. "Since the Fishing Derby will not be happening in January 2023, this will help fund the Chamber and enable us to continue to keep working for the Members".

The Chamber of Commerce annual dinner will be held Thursday March 9, 2023 at the Platte Valley Community Center. Watch for nominations and voting after the first of the year.
