Panthers pounce on preseason

Saratoga boys go 2-1 at Burns Winter Classic

Despite it being the pre-season, the Saratoga Panthers seem to be off to a good start following their 2-1 weekend at the Burns Winter Classic as they took on the 2A Southeast Cyclones (44-42), the 2A Pine Bluffs Hornets (67-76) and the Lingle-Fort Laramie Doggers (60-58). While the Panthers ultimately beat Lingle-Fort Laramie, it was only after going into overtime that the Doggers fell by 2 points.

Saratoga vs. Southeast

Teegan Love led the team in scoring against Southeast with 16 points, and 9 rebounds, followed by Sam Schneider with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Logan Seahorn scored 9 points against the Cyclones.

Saratoga vs. Pine Bluffs

Schneider scored 25 points against the Hornets, and boasted 10 rebounds and 9 steals. Love followed with 17 points and 5 rebounds, Greg Swanson scored 11 points and had 5 assists and Seahorn scored 7 points.

Saratoga vs. Lingle-Fort Laramie

Schneider scored 20 points against the Doggers, and had 12 rebounds, followed by Love with 16 points and 5 rebounds, Seahorn with 8 points and 5 rebounds and Swanson with 6 points.

“Overall, it was a great tournament for us and a great start to the season,” Williams said.

The next outing for the Panthers will be this weekend at the Shoshoni Wrangler Invite where begin by taking on the Burlington Huskies at 4 p.m. on Dec. 14.
