Lady Miners take third in Newcastle
HEM netters head to State after strong 3-1 showing at East Regionals

An impromptu parade is formed as local fire and law enforcement vehicles turn on their lights to escort the State-bound Lady Miners back into town Saturday night.
"I said all along we could do it," Jackie Jones, Hanna, Elk Mountain, Medicine Bow (HEM) High School head volleyball coach said smiling. "A third place finish is perhaps not what many thought was possible, but with these girls anything is possible."
The Lady Miners first took on Upton to win the match 3-1 with scores of 25-19, 28-26,19-25, 25-19 at 1:30 p.m. on Friday.
Their second game on Friday against Kaycee did not go quite as well as they lost 3-2. The fifth, and deciding, game of that series was very close and could have gone either way. Kaycee won with scores of 25-16, 25-23, 21-25,...
