Hohnholt said he is pleased most of his kids are competing at their track meets. He said that he likes how everything went the team’s way.

“I think the most positive thing about this week’s meet was having 95 percent of the kids there and competing,” Hohnholt said. “As a coach you learn a lot about your team by simply observing how athletes prepare for their events both mentally and physically. Are they warming up properly, are they cooling down properly, can they perform at their highest level going from event to event.”

Hohnholt said he believes that even better things are yet to come, especially students who made it to state qualifications.

“I was really happy with what I saw from most of our athletes and am extremely pleased with the effort they have been giving us,” Hohnholt said. “It was great to see some of our kids get qualified for the state track and field championships and hope that number increases two-fold over the next couple of weeks.”

The Saratoga Panthers will compete at the Rawlins Invitation on Friday, April 13 in Rawlins.
