Encampment/Riverside Volunteer Fire Department hosts annual easter egg hunt on March 30
It seemed the Easter Bunny not only made a stop in the Encampment and Riverside area, but lost most of his basket in the process.
On March 30, the Encampment/Riverside Volunteer Fire Department held their annual easter egg hunt for children aged preschool through 6th grade. The event, held at Rick Martin Memorial Park in Riverside, seems to draw participants from near and far every year and with good reason. Approximately 30 dozen eggs and pounds upon pounds of candy were littered throughout the park on Saturday morning.
At 10 a.m. on the dot, the horn sounded signaling the hunt was on and children ran to their designated areas to find not just candy and eggs, but the infamous golden egg. The children who found golden eggs in their zone were able to turn them in for a prize basket.
The winners, by grade, were as follows:
Preschool
1st place Paige Rakness, 2nd place Noah Wright, 3rd place Jonah Harris
Kindergarten and 1st Grade
1st place Konner Tolle, 2nd place Booth Parson, 3rd place Agnes Edwards
2nd & 3rd grades
1st place Dylan Merrill, 2nd place Sydka Keller, 3rd place Adalee Rauterkus
4th & 5th grades
1st place Colin Romios, 2nd place Annabelle McLaughlan, 3rd place Noah Harris
6th grade
1st place Hoyt McKinney, 2nd place Lexi Vorn, 3rd place Kelby Zeller
