A Tiger becomes an Eagle

Encampment’s Quade Jordan has signed with Chadron State College Eagles

Encampment Senior Quade Jordan is now getting ready to start a new chapter with the Chadron State College Eagles. Jordan—who had an outstanding senior year in football for the Tigers—had 1,953 yards, 43 touchdowns, and 86 tackles and has caught the attention of CSC recruiters and coaches.

Jordan will be majoring in business when he attends CSC next Fall. He officially signed, sealed and committed to CSC on February 7. Jordan said one of the reasons why he decided to go to CSC is because they made him feel right at home and he has family connections in Chadron, Nebraska.

“One of the reasons I decided to go to CSC is because I wanted to go to a place where I was wanted and help the team out,” Jordan said. “I knew if I went to Chardon, I could contribute and they wanted me there,”

Jordan said he had spoken with other universities but that CSC just simply had a deeper interest in him and had a lot more to offer.

“I have been down to Chadron a lot for their camps,” Jordan said. “They know me by name and I know them so I felt like I was at home. So when I went down for some of those scrimmage games they told me that they had been watching me throughout my high school years and they offered me a scholarship”.

Jordan said he is excited about going to CSC after graduating from Encampment. He said he would be with family and be reunited with old friends who have graduated from Encampment.

“I am so excited to go to CSC this fall,” Jordan said. “I am going to a place where I feel it’s a good place to be. There are a couple of Encampment students that are now students at CSC and I will also have family in Chadron who I can see.”

One of the greatest memories that Jordan had at Encampment was going to football practice and traveling around the state with his teammates. It is something he will always cherish.

“It was great being with the football team,” Jordan said. “I just love going to practice and having fun with my teammates. The fun part was going to games, traveling around the state, and going deep into the playoffs. It is something I will remember forever.”

Jordan also thanks his coaches for making him the best that he can be. He credits them for helping him to get into CSC. Currently, Jordan is competing in track and field for his final year at Encampment. Although he is not sure if he will also compete in track at CSC it all depends on how this track season plays out.
