Platte Valley Arts Council sponsoring Argentine Tango dance classes in November

From the streets of Buenos Aires to the Platte River Valley comes the Argentine tango on November 4, 2023 at the Saratoga Hot Springs Resort. This rare opportunity is for all adult dance enthusiasts. So, turn your western boots into dance shoes and bring your favorite person. Come have a fun time expressing your inner Latin lover while learning the basics of one of the most popular dances in the world, known for its intensity, precision, and passion. Your spouse or partner will love you for it.

Don’t know how to dance the Argentine tango? No worries. Professionals, Amy Beaudet and Ilya Lisenker with 15 years of experience teaching tango, will instruct two 1 1/4-hour dance classes (10:30 am and 2:30 pm) on the basics of Argentine tango. You will learn how to hold your partner close and move together in unison, the importance of the pause, and much more.

At 6:30 pm, participants will savor an Argentine-style buffet along with live and recorded performances of the Argentine tango. The menu will include a grand salad bar with an abundance of toppings and dressings, beef empanadas with sour cream and chive dipping sauce, chimichuri chicken strips, grilled proveletta cheese finished with a red whine chutney, chippa cheese bread roll paired with a tomato mojo churri and a medilunuas dusted with powered sugar and chocolate.

Time will be allotted for those enthusiastic dancers who want to practice what they have learned. For those who have already experienced the Argentine tango, this event will be a great time to brush up on previously learned technique.

If you enjoy new cultural experiences and sharing the joy of dancing with other couples, then Tango in the Valley is just for you. Tickets are $100 per person or $190 per couple. Alcohol is not included in the cost.

Tickets may be purchased at PLATTEVALLEYARTS.COM. Deadline to purchase is October 20, 2023

Tango in the Valley is sponsored by the Platte Valley Arts Council and Wyoming Arts Council.
