Lynn E. Acord

Lynn E. Acord, resident of Encampment, WY, passed away on July 28th, 2023 at North Platte Medical Center at the age of 72 years.

Lynn was born in San Jose, CA on July 17th, 1951, to Fred and Eleanor Bank. She grew up on an apricot orchard and was heavily involved in 4-H where she showed sheep, cattle, and horses. Lynn graduated from Mount Pleasant High school in 1969.

Lynn attended the University of Wyoming in 1975 where she graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science. She made Wyoming her permanent home and loved all that Wyoming had to offer. She met the love of her life when she became David Acord’s neighbor. She had broken her wrist and David helped her chop wood and fix her water heater which sparked their friendship and marriage of 40 years.

She enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, shooting, photography, and spending time with her family. Lynn had many talents which lead her to working a variety of jobs including a veterinary assistant, heavy equipment operator, and bookkeeper/administrative assistant X-H Land and Cattle to name a few. Lynn was known around the community for being a great artist. She was a fantastic painter, photographer, and could do anything art related. She frequently got together with her “old ladies” group where she could talk about her kids and grandchildren. Lynn was known for her work ethic and was always willing to lend a helping hand. She had an infectious laugh that made everyone laugh whether they were in on the joke or not.

Lynn will be greatly missed by her husband David; son Bill (Becky) Acord; daughter Kate (Kari) Acord; grandchildren Timothy (Meadow) Grass; Amy (Tristan) Grass; Owen Acord; Lenix Acord-Ward and Great-grandchild Nancy Grass. Lynn is also survived by her brother Fred (Pam) Bank; nephews Jerry (Crystal) Acord; Jason (Meaghan) Bank; Garrett (Debbie Smith); nieces Heather (Steve) Werner; Dusti Lawson; Airica Sargent); numerous great nieces and nephews, and many friends.

Lynn was preceded in death by her parents, maternal and paternal grandparents, and her sister, Lila Smith.

A celebration of life will be held on August 12, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the Grand View Park (714 Barnett Avenue) in Encampment, WY.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Xi Beta Delta Sorority in Encampment.
