LSRV went to Colorado where they had a win and a loss
The Little Snake River Valley (LSRV) High School Rattler basketball team went across the border to play two 2A Colorado teams. The first game on January 6 went well for the Rattlers as they beat Hayden by about 20 points.
“We got behind early, then we got close and then we pulled away,” LSRV Head Coach Jack Cobb said. “It was a good win and we learned more about ourselves as a team.”
The next night, playing against Meeker didn’t go so well. “They had a kid who was shooting and we had no answer for him,” Cobb said. “Our 3-point shooting was terrible that night. The stat was 3 for 18.” Cobb makes an interesting point. “The point differential was 14 points,” Cobb said. “Hitting more of those 3-pointers could have been a big difference in the game.”
The score was 50 to 46.
“It is always fun to play Meeker. They always seem to have one or two big kids and they are always in the winning mix,” Cobb said. “We like playing them and we like beating them once in a while.”
Cobb likes his team being challenged. “I like competition even if it doesn’t work out,” Cobb said. “A good loss is better than an easy win.
”The Rattlers face Saratoga at home on January 13.
