LSRV goes to Green River to play JV team and wins
The Little Snake River Valley (LSRV) Rattler High School football team went to Green River this past weekend to play Green River Wolves’ JV team. The Rattlers did well winning 52-19.
Head coach for LSRV, Jack Cobb was pleased how his team snagged another win for the season.
“Another good win for the Rattlers and the JV got almost three full quarters of playing time which was nice again,” Cobb said. “The starters came out and played excellent on offense and defense, and it was a great game for varsity. Then the JV held their own.”
Cobb was not unhappy the JV got scored on.
“They gave up points, but I felt it was fine,” Cobb said. “They learned from it and that is the best which can happen.”
Cobb was glad to see the caliber of players the Wolves put forth was strong.
“They put up some talented players,” Cobb said. “I am glad they did because they took it to our JV a bit when we were on defense, which worked out perfect for them.”
Hadley Meyers led the Rattlers gaining 105 yards and scoring three touchdowns. Two of the touchdowns were from rushing and one was a receiving score from Zane Matheson. Kannadis Peroulis got 95 yards and had two touchdowns. Seth Maxson with 32 yards scored one touchdown.
The defense was balanced with many players getting five tackles a piece.
As Cobb said, a good win and a good game.
“It was a good team game and it gave a lot of our players more experience,” Cobb said. “I really was proud of these young players.”
The Rattlers face the Hulett Devils on Saturday. The Rattlers who are undefeated at 4-0 face a non-conference team in the Devils who are 1-3.
“I look forward to the game next week,” Cobb said. “I think our team will do well.”
