Rams give Encampment football team first loss
There was no shortage of ambition on the part of the Encampment Tigers High School football team, but they couldn't beat the Dubois Rams offense who were just as determined to win the game, after a loss against Little Snake River Valley the week before.
The Rams knew in order to stay in the hunt for a good seeding when the season winds down, a win against Encampment was a must.
The 1st quarter Dubois put 14 points on the board compared to Encampment's ix points. The 2nd quarter had the Tigers get points, but unfortunately, the Rams put up 20.
Going into halftime, Dubois was up 34 to 14.
Encampment came out in the 3rd quarter knowing they had to get more offense rolling and get more stops. The Tigers did a good job. They scored 12 points and held the Rams to 12 points. The score going into the 4th quarter 46-26, the Tigers down by three touchdowns.
Encampment tried to get back into the game and did well getting 18 points during the 4th quarter. But it wasn't enough. The Rams added
24 more points pushing the score to 70 for Dubois.
Encampment totaled 44 points.
Quade Jordan rushed 233 yards with four touchdowns showing the drive of the Tiger boys and their ability to protect their runners.
Kaban Pickett rushed 11 yards followed by Bristin Sifford with six yards.
In the 3rd quarter Gunner Henrie caught the 27 yard pass thrown by Pickett.
Fourth quarter Jordan's 34 yard pass fell into the hands of Henrie.
Encampment will face Hanna, Elk Mountain, Medicine Bow (HEM) in a game starting at noon on Friday at Hanna.
