Tigers run down Pronghorns

Encampment beats Farson-Eden to win their first conference game

The Encampment Tiger football team killed the Ten Sleep Pioneers last week 53-0 and the Tigers kept the Farson-Eden Pronghorns scoreless 28 to 0. Encampment head football coach Kegan Willford has every reason to be pleased with how the team is performing.

His quarterback Gunner Henrie hit his receiver Quade Jordan in the first quarter for a touchdown. Encampment scored the two points and it was 8 to 0. The second quarter, Jordan rushed in 11 yards for another touchdown and the score was not 14 to 0. A minute later it was 16 to 0 thanks to Kaban Pickett.

There was one more score by the Tigers before halftime when Pickett snagged a 30 yard pass from Henrie to make the score 22 to 0.

In the third quarter, Jordan ran for 73 yards to have the Tigers score one more time. The game ended with Encampment getting 28 points while allowing no points for the Pronghorns.

Jordan was the leading rusher for the Tigers carrying the ball 18 times, accumulating 201 yards scoring two touchdowns. Pickett carried the ball 8 times for 62 yards.

Jordan and Pickett both got touchdowns from passes by Henrie.

The defense of Encampment is proving to be able to stop team cold from scoring so far this season.

The next test for the Tigers will be Friday against the Dubois Rams in Dubois. The Rams lost to Little Snake River Valley last week and are 1 and 1. It will be a conference game.
