Lady Panthers gave it all

Saratoga Lady Panthers faced off with Rock River Longhorns Saturday September 10

The Lady Panthers came out hot with the first set, winning 25-9. The second set was very close at 23-25, as was the third set at 18-25. Set four saw the Lady's come back with 27-25, but unfortunately the fifth set ended at 10-15, with Rock River winning the match.

Makenna King had 14 kills paired with Whitney Bennett at 12 kills kept the Longhorn Lady's running. Shelby Knotwell and Olivia Everett gave them a run for their money with 8 kills each, and Hanna Lathrop's 5 kills.

Coach Love said the team is dynamic together and the five seniors on the team play consistently. They are a great group of girls and are doing a nice job of leading their team.

This match had a little of everything. It's always exciting to see a big block or kill, and when someone digs a really hard hit it brings the crowd to their feet.

Love also said that they didn't perform as sharp as they have been against Rock River. They didn't have a solid day behind the line, but that is something that can easily be fixed. Love said that the girls never gave up which is great to see. Love said they just need to continue to capitalize on their strengths as a team and roll forward to the next game.

The Lady Panther's next game will be September 15 at 5 p.m. in Encampment.
