Grants a go go

Resolutions to purchase new ambulance approved

Penny Layman, the South Central Wyoming Emergency Medical Services (SCWEMS) representative for Encampment presented a request for Resolutions 2022-09 and resolution 2022-10. Both resolutions are for grant money to purchase new ambulances. Layman advised the council that it is a two year wait for an ambulance so they are trying to get started now. She also said that the two old ambulances, that were up for sale, had sold for a total of $20,000. The resolutions were approved and signed.

Zane Jacobsen of Doggett Greenhouse gave the council an update on their plans for the property they are leasing as well as reporting some repairs that had to be done to the barn. Jacobsen also discussed the possibility of changing the entrance to the business.

Dan Jago from Riverside, told the Council that the water tank project had been completed. It went very well and the Town of Riverside wanted to thank Encampment for their help.

Jon Nelson, Northfork Engineering, reports that the grant application is still in process. Stas Banach requested more detailed time sheets concerning Nelson’s work on the grant. The council disagreed with Banach.

Duane Allen of Walden, discussed the Mill Site with the Council. He said his company would be very interested in looking at this property and possibly leasing it. Tom James, the current leasee, said that he realized things had been moving slowly but that was due to so many repairs that had to be made before the mill could be operational. Stas Banach advised Allen that he should come back with a proposal.

The Council agreed to give James a two month extension to get things operational at the mill.
