Humans have Control

Editor,

Rebuttal to Rebuttal, re: “Says Science Isn’t Settled”.

It concerns me that the letter-writer advises people not to “be scared into wasting time worrying about some things humans have no control of”. I am not going to make the argument that much of climate change is caused by human activity—it IS and there is an abundance of information that can be found on websites such as NASA and NOAA that explain.

Independent scientists from all over the world have reached this conclusion. We humans DO have a lot of control over what happens to our environment but don’t worry, take action! It is not hard. Anyone can recycle. Avoid using single-use plastics. Shop at thrift stores—I have found fantastic clothing and housewares for very little money and they have already bee manufactured. Maybe you like to garden—grow some food. Here’s an easy one—don’t leave the water running. Some of us can do more.

I am in the process of getting solar power at my house. I am fortunate to be able to afford this, I know. But we can all contribute, even if it’s just not wasting food.

I think most of us and the generations after us do not want to experience the full wrath of climate change!
