Saratoga girls come home as regional champions
If their weekend in Shoshoni at the 1A West Regional Tournament was any indication, the Saratoga Panther track team may do very well at the 1A State Championship in Casper this weekend.
Especially considering the girls team came away as regional champions.
“I thought both groups performed at a really high level. We’re prepared, for the moment. To take a regional championship away from Burlington or Cokeville is a pretty good feat in itself,” said Head Coach Rex Hohnholt. “They’ve always been right there in the state championship mix and for us to get them at regionals is bigger than people think it is.”

The weekend in Shoshoni gave Hohnholt and the other coaches an idea of who may compete in what event at the State Tournament.
“We spend a lot of time trying to put our kids in the best events possible for us to score at State,” said Hohnholt. “Maybe it wasn’t the best for the individual, all the time, but as a team when you’re trying to get to State, win it and have a chance to compete for that last day you make some adjustments.
The Saratoga Panthers will compete in the 1A State Track and Field Tournament in Casper this weekend.
