A fast fall meeting

Encampment council moves quickly through business

With no additions to the agenda, and no public guests, the November 11 meeting of the Encampment Town Council had a quick .eeting. After the Pledge of Allegiance, the council started right away with the October 2021 financial statement. The council approved regular monthly bills of $22,045.69 for payroll and contracted liabilities. Moving along to updates on the Sewer Lagoon Improvement Project, the town council and Engineer Jon Nelson discussed options for improvement and safety features of the Lagoon. Nelson stated he hoped to have plans before the council by the December meeting.

The retail space of the Red Wagon LLC was approved to renew the lease at current terms. Also approved was a water and sewer tap application for block 48 at lots 13-24, provided the town is not liable for additional cost or labor for the function of said taps.

Possibly the most exciting news of the night was the return of Encampment’s annual lighting contest. Judged on popularity, the residents of Encampment have a chance at 1st-3rd place prizes. With the 18th Annual lighting contest approved by the council, the night sky is sure to start twinkling for the season.

The next regular meeting of Encampment Town Council will be held at 7:00 p.m. on December 9 at the Encampment Town Hall.
