Cross country prepares for State Championship

The regular season for Saratoga Cross Country came to an end this weekend as they competed in the Leroy Sprague Invite in Cheyenne on October 8. While there, both the men’s and women’s varsity runners continued to see decent placings as they prepare for the 2A State Championship in Ethete. 

Women’s Varsity 

Marilee Williams led the women’s team in Cheyenne, finishing with a time of 21 minutes, 13 seconds and placing 17th. Maddie Teichman followed with a time of 22 minutes, 21 seconds and placed 26th. Milan Scott placed 30th with a finishing time of 23 minutes, 5 seconds and was followed by Aspen Sewell in 35th place with a time of 23 minutes, 48 seconds. Jaden Campbell finished with a time of 25 minutes, 47 seconds in 42nd place.

Men’s Varsity

While the Bartlett twins did not take the top two placings this weekend in Cheyenne, they still led the men’s team as they placed in the top 10. Grant Bartlett came in 4th place, finishing with a time of 16 minutes, 43 seconds. Grady Bartlett finished with a time of 17 minutes, 20 seconds and came in 7th place.

Calvin Condict finished in 30th place with a time of 19 minutes, 5 seconds and was followed by Kelton Johnson who came in 40th place with a time of 20 minutes, 6 seconds. Zane Butler finished in 54th place with a time of 22 minutes, 12 seconds.

In the men’s junior varsity race, Douglas Anderson came in 34th place with a time of 23 minutes, 40 seconds and Colin Greenburg finished in 40th place with a time of 26 minutes, 24 seconds.

Saratoga will hold a simulated this weekend. The 2A Cross Country State Championship will be held on October 23 in Ethete, Wyoming.
