Saratoga wins in Rawlins

Panther track and field see good placings on Saturday

The track and field athletes of Saratoga High School had another meet close to home this weekend. On Saturday, Saratoga competed in Rawlins and, while there, Head Coach Rex Hohnholt's student athletes continued to place well in their respective events.

Beginning with track events, in the 100 meter dash Savannah Wells placed 3rd as she finished with a time of 14.61 seconds. In the 200 meter dash, meanwhile, Whitney Bennett placed 1st with a time of 28.31 seconds and Wells placed 4th with a time of 30.67.

In the 800 meter run, Marilee Williams placed 5th as she finished with a time of 3:03.62. Williams placed 3rd in the 1600 meter run, finishing with a time of 6:26.14. In the 100 meter hurdles, Wells placed 2nd with a time of 18.69. In the 300 meter hurdles, Bennett placed 2nd with a time of 38.34 seconds and was followed by Kaitlyn Campbell who came in 3rd place with a time of 53.36 seconds.

In the field events, Bennett placed 1st in the long jump with a distance of 15 feet, 10.25 inches and was followed by Wells, who came in 2nd place with a distance of 15 feet, 7.5 inches. Oliva Everett came in 6th place with a distance of 13 feet, 10.5 inches.

In the triple jump, Bennett came in 1st place with a distance of 34 feet, 7.5 inches while K. Campbell came in 5th place with a distance of 29 feet, 6.5 inches. Sam Fiedor came in 8th in the shot put, throwing for a distance of 26 feet, 5.5 inches, and discus, throwing for a distance of 70 feet, 1.5 inches.

In the track events, Noah Rimmer came in 3rd place in the 100 meter dash with a time of 12.13 seconds and was followed by Geoffrey Johnson, who came in 9th with a time of 13.49 seconds. Teegan Love placed 6th in the 200 meter dash with a time of 26.81 seconds.

In the 400 meter run, Kelton Johnson came in 8th place with a time of 58.42 seconds. Meanwhile, in the 800 meter run, Grant Bartlett placed 2nd with a time of 2:20.83 and Grady Barttlet came in 3rd place with a time of 2:22.68. Then, in the 1600 meter run, Grant Bartlett finished in 1st place with a time of 5:02.49 while Grady Bartlett came in 3rd place with a time of 5:12.14.

In the 400 meter relay, the team of G. Johnson, Heston Fisher, Love and Rimmer came in 2nd with a time of 48.35 seconds.

Over on the field, Teegan Love placed 1st in the high jump with a height of 5 feet, 6 inches and was followed by K. Johnson in 5th place with a height of 4 feet, 10 inches. Gavin Bartlett, meanwhile, placed 2nd in the pole vault with a height of 7 feet, 6 inches.

Love placed 5th in the long jump with a distance of 17 feet, 9.5 inches and was followed by G. Johnson in 10th place with a distance of 16 feet, 6.75 inches. In the triple jump, Fisher came in 4th place with a distance of 37 feet, 7.75 inches and was followed by Grant Bartlett in 5th place with a distance of 36 feet, 11 inches.

Rimmer placed 1st in the shot put, throwing for a distance of 48 feet, 1 inch. In discus, Rimmer also placed first with a throw of 120 feet, 11 inches. Travis Jordan followed in 10th place with a throw of 93 feet, 3.5 inches.

The next meet for Saratoga will be on May 1 as they compete in the Rock Springs Invite at Rock Springs.
