Carbon County vaccination moving forward

Next Saratoga vaccine clinic is April 23

As the warmer months approach and there continues to be a push to return to a pre-coronavirus mentality, the administering of vaccines is still ongoing.

On March 31, the Office of Governor Gordon announced that all Wyomingites over the age of 16 years old were eligible to take the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine. Only residents over the age of 18 are eligible to receive the Moderna vaccine, which has been primarily administered in Carbon County.

Carbon County Public Health continues to administer vaccines throughout the county with the next vaccine in Saratoga taking place on April 23 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

As of April 12, Carbon County had administered 4,918 first doses and 2,928 second doses of the Moderna or Pfizer vaccines. With the recently released Johnson & Johnson (Janssen) single dose vaccine, the county had received 1,000 doses and had administered 446 doses.

Carbon County is currently sitting at 21.39 percent of all residents being vaccinated. Of those, 27.74 percent of adults over the age of 18 are vaccinated and 50.38 percent of seniors 65 and older are vaccinated.
