Panther grapplers see individual success in Lyman

Two Saratoga wrestlers go 3-0 in individual matches at Bridgerland Tournament on February 6

The grapplers of Saratoga High School were on the road again this week as they traveled to Lyman where they competed in the Bridgerland Tournament on February 6. While there, the Panther wrestlers saw some success as a team, keeping scores close to teams such as Thermopolis and Big Piney while coming to a tie with Jackson.

In the team score against Jackson, the Panthers went 36-36 and kept the same score in their loss to Thermopolis, with a score of 36-45. In facing Big Piney, Saratoga went 33-36.

Despite the overall team scores, Head Coach Jared Mason highlighted some individual standouts from the weekend.

Both Josiah Stockwell and Tuker Carricato went undefeated in their individual matches, going 3-0 against wrestlers from Jackson, Thermopolis and Big Piney. Also doing well were Jerry Everret, Kaden Hedely and Encampment's Quade Jordan. All three wrestlers went 2-1 in their respective matches.

While there is still some season left for the basketball teams, the grapplers are preparing to close their season. Saratoga is set to host a dual of their own this weekend as they welcome Walden and Sorroco to the Panther Den. Following the final regular season dual, the Panthers will prepare to compete in Glenrock on February 20 at the regional qualifier. From there, the top four wrestlers in each weight class who qualify will head to the state tournament in Casper

The final dual for the Saratoga grapplers will be at 4:30 p.m. on February 12 at Saratoga Middle High School.
