Saratoga grapplers pounce on competition

Panther wrestling sees success in Burns, Shoshoni

The Saratoga Panthers wrestling team traveled to Shoshoni and Burns this past weekend competing against: Shoshoni, Rocky Mountain, Burns, and Cheyenne East. The Panthers were joined by the Hanna, Elk Mountain, Medicine Bow wrestling team when they went to Burns.

Head coach Jared Mason was happy with his team's results.

"Most wrestlers earned at least one win each, and several had winning records," Mason said.

He said Cale Mowry went 2-0 at 106 and Josiah Stockwell went 3-1 also wrestling at 106.

Two wrestlers did very well going 4-1. Jerry Everett at wrestled 126, and Slayd Daley wrestled at 138.

"Congratulations to Josiah Stockwell who earned Panther wrestler of the week honors for his improved wrestling, dedication, and victory over Ethan Tarango of Shoshoni who was ranked second in the state at 106 for 2A," Mason said. "Nice job and keep working to get better Panther wrestlers."

Saratoga will be wrestling at Lingle on January 23.
