Panthers hit the mat in Torrington with success

The Saratoga Panther grapplers traveled to Torrington on Friday, January 9, to compete against the teams of Laramie, Burns and Torrington.

Head Coach Jared Mason said the Panthers began their day against Laramie winning seven matches and losing six.

Next they wrestled Burns/Pine Bluffs winning nine and losing nine of the matches wrestled. Against Torrington in the final round, the Panthers won three matches and lost four to end the weekend with a 19-19 record.

Mason said he saw some good things from his wrestlers.

"Congratulations to Tucker Carricato on his impressive 3-0 individual performance, all by way of pin, that earned him Panther Wrestler of the Week honors," Mason said. "Other individual standouts at Torrington were; Cale Mowry 2-0, Jerry Everett 3-1, Douglass Campbell 2-1, and Quade Jordon 2-1."

Saratoga will be wrestling at Shoshoni on January 15 and in Burns on January 16.
