Encampment plays three, wins one

Lady Tigers wrestle down Lingle-Fort Laramie in five sets for Saturday win

Coming off an unexpected win against their Valley and conference rivals the week before, the Encampment Lady Tigers had a busy week as they were hosted by the No. 1 Cokeville Lady Panthers on Friday and hosted the Lingle-Fort Laramie Lady Doggers and the Southeast Lady Cyclones on Saturday.

Though Encampment fell to the Lady Panthers and Southeast, they secured a win across five sets against Lingle-Fort Laramie to go 1-2 for the week.

Lady Panthers

Following a win against the purple-and-gold Panthers of the 1A Southwest Conference the week before, Encampment hit the road to be hosted by the orange-and-black Panthers. Despite the momentum from their first conference win, the Lady Tigers ultimately fell to Cokeville in three sets.

The Lady Tigers went 15-25, 11-25 and 15-25 to go 0-3 on Friday.

Lady Doggers

Encampment didn't let their conference loss keep them down as they began their Saturday by hosting Lingle-Fort Laramie. While the Lady Doggers managed to secure the first two sets against Encampment, going 18-25 and 23-25. The Lady Tigers, however, found their footing and wrestled Lingle-Fort Laramie for the following three sets, going 25-23, 25-22 and 16-14.

Lady Cyclones

After getting a win across five sets against the Lady Doggers, Encampment ended their Saturday by hosting Southeast. The Lady Cyclones took care of Encampment in three sets, though the Lady Tigers did attempt to leave their mark on Southeast in the final two. 

Encampment went 11-25, 24-26 and 23-25 against the Lady Cyclones.

Following their 1-2 weekend, the Lady Tigers are 5-7 for the season and are 1-4 for conference play. Encampment returns to conference play this weekend as they host the Farson-Eden Lady Pronghorns (5-7, 2-3) on Friday and the Cokeville Lady Panthers (8-6-1, 4-0) on Saturday.

The Lady Tigers will host Farson-Eden at 3:30 p.m. on October 16 and Cokeville at 10 a.m. on October 17.
