Varsity boys and varsity girls place in top spots while in Manila

The long distance runners of Saratoga traveled out of state on Thursday as they competed in the Manila Invitational in Manila, Utah. While there, both the varsity boys and varsity girls saw three student athletes place in the top 10 while competing in a 3.1 mile race.

Boys

Leading the boys varsity was defending state champion Grant Bartlett, who came in 1st with a finishing time of 16:32. Grant's twin brother, Grady, came in a few spots behind and placed 5th with a time of 17:35.

Calvin Condict came in 10th place with a finishing time of 19:47, Brayden Barkhurst and Kelton Johnson placed directly behind Condict. Barkhurst placed 11th with a time of 20:13 and Johnson placed 12th with a time of 20:17.

Girls

Marilee Williams led the varsity girls as she placed 3rd with a time of 21:01. Amber Stubbs and Kaitlyn Campbell, meanwhile, finished within milliseconds of each other with one place separating the two runners. Stubbs placed 6th with a time of 23:11 and K. Campbell finished 8th with a time of 23:11. Jaden Campbell came in 14th place with a time of 29:07.

Saratoga won't have to travel far this weekend as they compete in the Rawlins Invitational on Friday.
