Bartlett twins hit top spots

Grant, Grady Bartlett secure 1st and 4th at Burns Invitational

Saratoga Cross Country ran off to the Burns Invitational on Friday. While there, the Bartlett twins returned to their top spots as they raced against 28 other runners in the varsity boys division. Meanwhile, Marilee Williams placed 4th in the varsity girls division out of 18 finishing runners.

Boys

Defending state champion Grant Bartlett wasted no time in attempting to retain his stop spot while over in Burns. Running against schools such as Cheyenne East, Cheyenne South and Burns/Pine Bluffs, Grant came in 1st place with a finishing time of 17:31. Grady, who was the state runner-up last season, came in 4th place with a finishing time of 18:10.

Calvin Condict came in 21st with a time of 21:51, Brayden Barkhurst came in 22nd place with a time of 22:03 and Kelton Johnson finished in 25th place with a time of 22:51.

Girls

In the varsity girls race, Williams came in 4th place with a time of 22:53. While she was joined by fellow varsity runner Amber Stubbs, Stubbs was listed as "did not finish."

In the junior varsity race, Kaitlyn Campbell finished in 2nd place with a time of 26:46 and sister Jaden Campbell came in 13th place with a time of 33:47.

This weekend, the long distance Panthers will get quite the workout as they head to Afton, site of the 2019 2A Cross Country Championship, for the Star Valley Pre-Meet.
