National Crime Victims' Rights Week

“Seek Justice, Ensure Victims’ Rights, Inspire Hope” April 19 - 25, 2020

The Carbon County Sheriff’s Victim/Witness Program recognizes April 19-25, 2020 as National Crime Victims’ Rights Week by raising awareness about crime victims’ issues, promoting victims’ rights and honoring victims of all crimes.

The 2020 theme “SEEK JUSTICE, ENSURE VICTIMS’ RIGHTS, INSPIRE HOPE” reminds us that the rights of crime victims are best protected when all participants in the criminal justice process—not only victims—are appropriately educated about victims’ rights. When we come together as individuals and as a community, we empower victims and survivors to find autonomy and achieve self-defined goals. Through community action and service, we all become stronger together.

Each year in Carbon County we are asked to reach out, to listen and to support victims of all crimes as they pursue support, recovery and justice, but also a sense of hope for their future.
