Wyoming COVID-19 cases continue to rise

Count of confirmed cases now up to 11

Four More Wyoming Coronavirus Cases Found

Testing at the Wyoming Public Health Laboratory has identified three additional reported cases in the state of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), according to the Wyoming Department of Health (WDH). An additional case was identified by commercial reference laboratory testing.

The new cases involve an adult female in Park County, an adult female in Laramie County, an adult male in Sheridan County and an adult female in Sheridan County. No more information is available at this time regarding the Park County or Laramie County cases. The two new Sheridan County cases are close contacts of two previously identified cases from the county.

The total number of Wyoming cases is now 15.

WDH will follow up regarding exposure risks and will work to identify and communicate with contacts. Known contacts will be monitored for symptoms and tested as needed.

Over the past few days, number of confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) has increased from three individuals to 11 following announcements from the Wyoming Department of Health late Monday night and Tuesday afternoon.

According to a press release from the Wyoming Department of Health issued at 10 p.m. on Monday, seven cases were added to the count last night following testing from the Wyoming Public Health Laboratory.

All seven cases were in Fremont County and directly connected to the first case found in Fremont County on March 13, according to Kim Deti,public information officer for the department of health.

"WDH is continuing to follow up regarding exposure risks of the new cases and will work to identify and communicate with anyone who may have been in close contact with them," read the press release. "Known contacts will be monitored for symptoms and tested if needed."

In a press release issued around 4 p.m. Tuesday afternoon, another case with added to the count of Wyoming residents confirmed to have contracted coronavirus. The most recent case, according to the Wyoming Department of Health, involves "an older adult male resident of Laramie County" the press release read.
