Dredging Encampment

Sewer lagoon update given by North Fork Engineering

February 13 was a night for short meetings. The Encampment Town Council quickly reviewed and approved most of the items on their agenda.

Some of the agenda items that were approved include the purchase of a protective vest for Chief Shue, a request for street closure for a kids sledding event and the disconnection of power to the Japanese Garden.

Jon Nelson provided an update on the sewer lagoon improvement and dredging projects. There has been progress with landowners who are interested in having the bio-solids deposited onto their fields since they have nutrient value. Nelson stated that he has received guidelines for application rates. They will continue working and taking soil samples to form projections as to the contents of the pumped water. This will determine how many gallons per acre can be used.

A formal report from an environmental consultant with a bio-analysis has also been received. Phase two schematics for aeration and treatment are underway.

The next Encampment Town Council meeting will be held at 7 p.m. March 12, 2020.
