Rimmer awarded All-State

Saratoga Panther Noah Rimmer was acknowledged by Wyoming Coaches Association with being selected as an All-State football player this year.

"I'm excited I got the award," Rimmer said. "I am honored of course and I was happy that other coaches could see that I am the type of player they consider All-State."

Last year, because Saratoga started its first season in six-man, no players were recognized. Rimmer was happy this wasn't the case this season.

"I am glad to get this award, because last year we couldn't get anything which was sad, but rules are rules," Rimmer said. "So it was a great feeling that coaches recognized me this year."

Menphis Smith was selected for All-Conference. He was happy and honored.

"It feels great, this happening my senior year," Smith said. "I never had a chance before this."

Smith gives credit to Head Coach Logan Wright for guiding him this season.

"I'm just glad we had a coach like Coach Wright," Smith said. "Since the beginning he has helped me and I want to thank him."

Teegan Love also was honored with an All-Conference selection.

"It felt good," Love said when asked about the honor.

Wright was elated about Rimmer getting the honor of all state. He was pleased with Smith getting All-Conference, but did question the coaches not choosing Love for All-State.

"I feel we just didn't play enough teams from the other side for him to get the votes," Wright said. "I think if we had played any other team from the West side but Little Snake River, they would have voted for him."

Wright said Rimmer's defensive plays got him a little more attention than Love, although he said Love played very well defensively.

Wright said Rimmer led the stats in receiving, so his defense and offense were noticeable.

"Noah totally deserved his recognition," Wright said. "I just know Teegan is the best quarterback when talking about pure throwing and not getting sacked. He had the most passing attempts by far and the athletic ability to avoid sacks under pressure. He got 38 total touchdowns and was number one in all purpose yards."

Wright said losing the Hulett game by five points hurt Love's recognition from the West.

"He's a tough kid and although he might have been a little disappointed about being overlooked, he is getting ready to play the sport he loves (basketball)," Wright said. "Teegan is a great guy and he'll be fine about what recognition he gets and doesn't. He cares about the team most importantly and that is excellent to have in a talented football player that will be coming back next year."
