Med Bow Lions club elects new officers

The Medicine Bow Lions Club chapter met at 6 p.m. on June 15, at the Virginian to elect new officers for the June 2018 to June 2019 terms.

Carol Maddox replaces outgoing president Pam Glasser. Serving with C. Maddox is first vice president Bob Heward; Second vice president Lindsey Freeman; third vice president Rob Maddox; secretary Kathy Thompson; treasurer Shane Blakeman and Lion Tamer Sharon Heward.

The board of directors now consists of Don Mayfield, Martin Mayfield, Harold Mayfield, Mike McGraw, Pamela Glasser and Cindy Chase.

Trevor Strauch told attendees at the meeting, work on the 9 hole disc golf would start in a week. It will be next to the baseball and football fields at the Recreation Park. He said the equipment for the disc golf is coming from a Carbon County No. 2 Recreation Board grant.

Privately owned discs can be bought at sporting goods stores.

The Lions Club have Hanna chapter 46 Order of the Eastern Star serving taco dinner starting at 5 p.m. before the 7 p.m. bingo games on June 12.

The members are proposing the 1953 vendors trailer.

Past president Glasser will the Medicine Bow Lions Club at the State Lions convention June 1-3.
