Auxiliary News

Club Notes

Unit 54 of the American Legion Auxiliary held their monthly meeting Nov. 17 at 6:30 p.m. Four members were present.

Carrie Craig reported that she has a flag etiquette program set up with the Saratoga School May 17, 2016 and is still working with the Encampment School to find an appropriate date for them.

It was suggested that the Auxiliary March in the Fourth of July parade to continue our effort to make our organization better known in the community.

In trying to complete our event calendar for the year, it was reported that the Chariot Races are scheduled in March of 2016 so some adjustments were made for that. Also the Fishing Derby is scheduled Jan. 16 and 17, so we will start planning for that at the December meeting.

The food raffles are continuing and plans have been made for three raffles to be held during December.

It was suggested that the unit purchase a camera so that we have a better record of our activities and to make it easier for the unit historian and publicity chairman to do their duties.

It was reported that membership is up to 48 now but we still have some members that need to get their dues paid.

We also need to turn in a report to Department on hours that have been spent serving Veterans. That report needs to be complete by Dec. 1 so contact Diana Galbraith at 307-259-3937 with these hours.

The next meeting will be Dec. 15, 2015 at 6:30 p.m. at the Legion Post.
