The Carbon County School District No. 2 (CCSD#2) Board of Trustees approved hiring Saratoga Middle High School Principal Larry Uhling as the District Curriculum Director/Facility Manager for CCSD#2 in the 2015/2016 year at its monthly meeting, which was held at Hanna-Elk Mountain-Medicine Bow Junior/Senior High School.
Uhling has been the principal of Saratoga Middle High School for 14 years. CCSD#2 Superintendent Jim Copeland recommended Uhling for the position stating that two high qualified individuals were chosen for the final interviews and that Uhling with his background at CCSD#2 and in construction was the best choice by far.
CCSD#2 plans to advertise the Saratoga Middle High School principal position.
Steven Priest, CCSD#2 Instruction Integration Specialist, was hired as the principal of HEM Jr./Sr. High School principal for the 2015/2016 school year. Priest will fill Dale Kari’s position. Kari is retiring at the end of the school year after 20 years with the district.
The next CCSD#2 meeting is at 4 p.m. May 18 at the Elk Mountain Elementary School.
