WyoPoets chapbook includes works from local author

Poems from Encampment author Dawn Senior-Trask were recently included in the WyoPoets 2014 chapbook, titled “Weather Watch: Poems of Wyoming”.

Trask’s two poems included were “April Blizzard in the Ranch Yard” and “Spring Sunshine”. The chapbook was released at a reading during the WyoPoets Workshop in Casper last spring.

From more than 100 entries, 34 poems by 24 poets were selected by juror and featured poet Barbara Smith, of Rock Springs. The selection of poems was made by a double-blind process, where the poets submitted poems without knowing the identity of the juror. The juror was also not shown the poets’ names.

In addition to being a local published writer, author, poet and essayist, Senior-Trask is also a professional sculptor, painter, muralist and illustrator.

WyoPoets is an organization whose members write poetry for publication and/or as a hobby. Its mission is to provide a base for mutual help and inspiration by encouraging interest in poetry.
