Tigers squeak by Farson, lose big to Cokeville

The Encampment Tigers experienced mixed emotions last weekend, succumbing to a big loss against Cokeville after an oh-so-close squeak past Farson-Eden.

Friday’s conference game, in which Encampment won 52-50, was quite the change of pace for Farson-Eden this time around. The Tigers trampled the Tigers 71-46 only one month earlier.

“We had a good first half that enabled us to win the ball game,” said head coach Clint Bromley. “Luke Pantle had 23 points, five rebounds and three assists.”

Saturday’s game, however, was the crushing conference blow for the Tigers, as they got hit hard by Cokeville. The Panthers won 51-35, somewhat repeating their 54-33 victory over the Tigers in January.

“Again, we had a good first half scoring 26 points, and couldn’t get it going again in the second half and were out scored 20 to 7,” Bromley said. “We only had four players score, with Luke Pantle at 25 point, seven rebounds and three assists. Jared Stewart had 10 rebounds.”

The Tigers now stand at a strong 13-5 overall, and an even 3-3 for conference. Up next is home conference face-off at 4 p.m. against Hanna-Elk Mountain-Medicine Bow.

Results from Tuesday’s game against Walden, Colo. were not available at press time.
