Girls basketball

Friday night the Encampment girls played the Saratoga girls in basketball. Results of the game were 13 to 6 in favor of the home team. The Encampment girls were handicapped by not having two of their best players with them. The game was well attended and enjoyed. While it was not as fast as some of the games that have been played here this winter it was well worth attending. A dance followed the basketball games.

Burns newspaper man moves to Encampment

Henry Thrasher, who was publishing a newspaper at Burns, Wyoming, has recently suspended publication of his paper, and moved to Encampment, where he will assist A.B. Firemen report new ambulance service number

Local residents are asked to dial the first number, 326-5333, when the ambulance service is needed, an official for the Saratoga fire department announced this week. Previously, separate numbers to call had been listed but difficulties were encountered and a change policy lists the single number. The ambulance is free of charge to all residents of the area.

The official also said that about two-thirds of the $1,500 goal set in the current fund drive has been attained. With about $1,000 received, the department needs another $500 approximately to meet operating and maintenance expenses for the year and all persons wishing to donate are urged to leave their contributions either at the Saratoga State Bank or with Robert Oneil, department secretary.
