Panthers score two points in second

Saratoga's varsity boys basketball team took another conference game hit last weekend, suffering a 39-72 loss against the Lusk Tigers.

The Panthers' season record now sits at 8-6 (non-conference) and 0-3 (conference). Although they lost by 33 points, head coach Josh Sandlian said his boys were ahead for much of the first quarter during Saturday's game.

"The Panthers played a great first quarter, holding the lead for most of it," he said. "Towards the end of the first quarter, Lusk hit a couple of baskets to take the lead. The second quarter we were outscored 25-2 and we trailed the rest of the game. The Panthers played tough but could not get shots to fall."

Ben Falk led as the top Panthers scorer, acing 10 points. John Brennan, Cameron Collamer and Braxton Schwartzlopf all tied with eight points each, while Ryan Malone earned three and Jace Berger snagged two.

The Panthers play their next conference game against Southeast at Yoder Friday, and a home game at noon against Hanna-Elk Mountain-Medicine Bow.
