BLM to hold open house Monday

The Bureau of Land Management Rawlins Field Office (RFO) will put up its draft North Platte River Recreation Area Management Plan (RAMP) and Environmental Assessment (EA) for public comment April 8.

As part of the organization’s review period, the RFO will hold an open house for any public comment from 4 to 6 p.m. At the Saratoga Library, 503 W. Elm St., Saratoga.

BLM specialists will be in attendance to answer questions the public may have about the draft North Platte River RAMP and EA. Community members and other interested parties will find the draft outlined on several posters, maps and photos outlining proposed alternatives and potential future action.

The key alternatives that will be outlined include improvements to campgrounds, boat ramps, parking areas, educational programs and special recreation permit allocations. Changes to the current special recreation permit moratorium will also be discussed, as well as proposed strategies for monitor resource conditions.

Meeting attendees and other members of the public can email written comments to BLM WY North Platte River [email protected], or mail them to BLM Rawlins Field Office, North Platte RAMP Comment, 1300 N. Third St., Rawlins, WY 82301. Any comments must be sent before April 12.
