Speech team brings home 1A/2A championship

The Carbon County School District No. 2 Speech team returned home as 1A/2A champions of the Evanston Speech and Debate meet.

Encampment juniors Rebecca Treat and Kaylyn Wesel earned sixth place with the humor duet “Robin Hood” competing against 10 other Wyoming High Schools.

Wessel earned third place in drama.

Colton Woolfolk continues to inspire his team as a role model with his impromptu speaking, Speech coach Brenda Ostendorf said.

“The more astute one becomes while competing in the category of impromptu speaking, the more analytical one becomes regarding the finished product.”...
