    After four attempts at a settlement, the State of Wyoming and Saratoga resident Tom Arthur, do not appear to be any closer to a deal surrounding Arthur’s September 12 citation over the harvesting of an antlered deer out of season.   • Saratoga Lake project declared a success

    The Wyoming Game and Fish Department has declared success in completing a rotenone project to remove illegally-stocked yellow perch from Saratoga Lake. According to a press release from the game and fish department, approximately 14,000 pounds of rotenone were applied to Saratoga Lake in mid-September. In October, fisheries biologists held two different sampling events at the lake to see if any fish remained.     December 3 started the Christmas season in Carbon County in a resounding manner as holiday events were held in several different communities. At the "Old Pen" in Rawlins, there was a bazaar and the town's "Festival of Trees" in the evening.     Medicine Bow Crossing convenience store in Elk Mountain has a new look, but it is not apparent from the outside. Medicine Bow Crossing was established in the town of Elk Mountain about four years ago by Bill Jones, Cody Jones and Joyce Menke.
