Planning commission restores council's voting privilege

The Saratoga planning commission received input from Mayor Ed Glode at its Feb. 10 meeting on changing the bylaws to allow the Saratoga Town Council appointed member to have a vote on the planning commission.

Landfill Board prepares for SLIB meeting

Deadlines are fast approaching for the Upper Platte River Solid Waste Disposal District (Landfill Board).
When asked how things are progressing, Chairman of the Landfill Board Randy Raymer said, “What we’re going to do is focus on our base estimate to meet the minimum requirements, so we can get the transfer station open and close the landfill.”

Congressional Reps coming to Carbon County

Field Representatives for U.S. Senator John Barrasso, U.S. Senator Mike Enzi and U.S. Representative Cynthia Lummis will be in Carbon County to visit with residents on Feb 11. Anyone with questions, comments or concerns in relation to federal agencies or legislation is welcome to attend.

CCSD#2 board candidates file

The filing period for the Carbon County School District No. 2 Board of Trustees expired Monday.
Jim Hinkle filed for the unexpired term of Area 2. Hinkle was appointed after Greg Bartlett resigned. Incumbent Diana Berger has also filed for Area 2. Incumbent Tonya Bartholomew has filed for Area 3. KayCee Alameda and James Sewell have filed for Area 4, which is an at large position. All of these candidates live in or near Saratoga.

Three applicants vie for Commission position

On Jan. 21 the Carbon County Republican Party met to select three applicants to be considered for the Carbon County Commissioners seat left vacant by Jerry Paxton. Paxton resigned his commission seat to fulfill his duties as House District 47 Representative.
