Candidates talk tourism

By Mike Armstrong
On Thursday, six candidates for governor attended a panel hosted by Wyoming Lodging and Restaurant Association (WLRA) to discuss their views and policies related to tourism, hospitality and retail issues impacting the state at the Nicholaysen Art Museum in Casper.
The Saratoga Sun was invited to listen to the candidates because tourism is of interest to many in Carbon County.

It's debatable

A date and time has finally been set for a debate at the Bear Trap Cafe and Bar in Riverside by owner Margaret Weber. Since originally being announced on Facebook and on page 5 of the May 23, 2018 edition of the Saratoga Sun (“Talk at the Trap”), the nature and format of the debate has changed, however.

The candidates have filed

The candidates for the 2018 Primary Election are in, starting with the United States Senate seat currently held by Senator John Barrasso (R-Wyoming). With six candidates for the up-for-grabs senate seat and four candidates for the United States Representative seat, currently held by Representative Liz Cheney (R-Wyoming), the primary elections will provide voters with ample options.

Talk at the Trap

The Bear Trap Cafe and Bar in Riverside, Wyo. has been host to a variety of events over the years. From the post-jamboree party spot to the home of WHATFest for a handful of years. Now, Margaret Weber is hoping to bring another event to the establishment. It is sure to get people talking and that is exactly what she wants.
