The loss of Tyeler Harris had a huge impact on not only Carbon County, but across the country. Harris was killed when he was struck by a semi while responding to a crash on Interstate 80 on December 21, 2022.
The Memorial Hospital of Carbon County (MHCC) has started a scholarship program to honor Harris’ memory. According to the MHCC website, two scholarships will be offered annually in the amount of $500.00 each.

It seems like yesterday, a young lady came to this tiny community to pursue a dream. In 1997 Laura Morrow opened a boutique, Laura M, retailing her own designs as well as other apparel that appealed to her eclectic taste. Within just a few short years, she became an icon of fashion and fun. People would come from all over the state to shop at Laura M. The store is known for high quality merchandise, western wear, fur, gifts and fine art.

The 307 Pub and Grub owners Adrianne Wagnon, Sally Wells and Jennifer Cuningham opened the doors of the Pub and Grub on November 4th, but only the Pub was serving.

Recruiting qualified medical personnel has long been a challenge to rural communities. To meet the healthcare needs of the Saratoga community through the North Platte Valley Medical Center (NPVMC), the Platte Valley Healthcare Project has contracted with Aligned Providers Wyoming to staff and manage NPVMC’s emergency and inpatient departments.  

Every year, Bridge Street Bargains opens it doors exclusively for children. They provide students from Saratoga Elementary School with a ticket that says one dollar but it is good for any one item in the store. The volunteers help the kids find the perfect gift for their parents, grandparents or that pesky older teenage brother who is hard to buy for.
