A crown for Wyoming

When one thinks of "The West" and particularly Wyoming, a number of images come to mind. Bucking broncos, hard working cowboys, majestic mountain ranges and clear blue skies. The most iconic of all these images, however, is the buffalo.

For 49 hunting seasons, Merrill Meat Company north of Encampment has accepted wild game from out-of-state and local hunters. This season, what would have been its 50th, that will no longer be the case.

Hark, a meadowlark

Meadowlark Pediatrics, LLC has joined the visiting specialists at the Platte Valley Clinic and has begun seeing patients on alternate Thursdays. The Laramie-based medical group was founded by Paula Vasek, FNP and Elizabeth DePrince Smith, CPNP and provides pediatric wellness and acute care visits to families with children aged newborn through college.

Providing customer service with a smile

Driving into Saratoga from Walcott Junction there is a building on the left about a mile before town which houses a business is essential to many ranchers in feeding their livestock. Pet owners also use this store, as do people who need their dry cleaning done.
Saratoga Feed and Grain has been doing such a good job that it won the Saratoga/Platte Valley Chamber of Commerce's 2021 Business of the Year.

Taking the Summit

Summit Fitness, the 24-hour gym at 110 West Spring Street in Saratoga, is under new ownership. Maxx and Heather Memmot, who moved to the Valley four years ago, officially took over the gym on June 1 from previous owners Justin and Tammi Hale.
The Memmots, originally from Utah, decided to make the Valley their home in 2017 after Maxx had visited for a hunting trip in 2016 with his father.
